School meals

Ark Bentworth Primary Academy is fully committed to ensuring our pupils enjoy a healthy balanced diet. We value the importance of all pupils sitting down together at tables in small groups and enjoying meal together whilst learning how to eat and hold polite conversation in a well-mannered fashion. Packed lunches are permitted however we encourage parents to opt for school dinners so that they can enjoy a healthy, hot meal.

School meals are free for all children in Reception to Year 6, under Universal Free School Meals. Meals are also free for pupils in Nursery who are entitled to Free School Meals. For all other pupils, meals are charged at £2.00 per day, and need to be paid for in advance.

From 7.30am - 8.30am children are offered breakfast. There is no charge for breakfast and all pupils are offered a healthy breakfast and are able to sit and eat this with their friends. We believe that no child should start the day hungry and that breakfast provides vital fuel for learning. There is always fruit and cereal available everyday, but we also offer a warm breakfast.

Some parents may be entitled to receive free school meals for their children.
